Holotropic Breathwork

Holotropic Breathwork was developed by psychiatrists Stanislav and Christina Grof in the 1970s to achieve altered states of consciousness (without using substances) as a potential therapeutic tool. It integrates insights from modern consciousness research, anthropology, transpersonal psychology, various depth psychologies, Eastern spiritual practices, and mystical traditions of the world.

It is a powerful approach to self-exploration and personal empowerment. It allows our innate inner wisdom to move us towards positive transformation and wholeness. During a Holotropic Breathwork session accelerated breathing is combined with evocative music to activate the natural healing process of the individual psyche. In this non ordinary state of consciousness, it allows the focus on the intelligence of our internal processing. Experiences occur and transformation happens on many levels of the psyche.

The name Holotropic translates literally to “moving toward wholeness” from the Greek “holos” and “trepein” moving towards wholeness.
